Rise and shine! Its chinese new year's eve today! Waking up to prayers at home and off to the temple. Waiting patiently for dad's side cousins to arrive from kuala lumpur and penang. One by one arrive and have lunch at my place. Its 12pm and off to the temple we go! My eyes literally couldn't open due to super hot sunshine.
This is the temple my grandma's ashes was kept in. Praying to the ancestors is a tradition to all of the buddhist celebrating chinese new year. Here you go, picture showing how bright the sun shine. Grandpa arranging the food and prayer stuffs.
Returned from temple and my aunt drop by my place to get some ice. Followed her to her house for fun and the best thing was having early dinner with them. (First picture)Steamboat is probably the easiest for reunion dinner. This time we had it the traditional way which is by using charcoal. Food, all i see if such good food! It was kind of a new thing for me because i always had my steamboat the modern way(electrical wok). Oh, but i had (second picture) my second dinner with my family and we had it the modern way. (Third picture) All the cookies! Some made by my aunt.
This is also a tradition. (Picture below), having prayer at 12am. Fireworks were heard everywhere non stop from 12 to 1am. I always enjoy all the noises and fun one the eve.
Hope you have a good time too! Sorry for the late post. Busy busy busy! Till then.
Love, Jan
