Rise and shine! Today will be the second day of chinese new year! Headed to relatives house again for more ang pao! :) As years come by, lesser people are around. Some got married and they were with in laws. Anyway, this is my ootd for today! Posted this dress before previously. Attempted to wear contacts and i succeed!
(Picture below) This is my mom and Valerie. The happier her today. She is chubby and cute. Went to my aunt's house for a good lunch and too bad i went earlier, the lion dance team came over to my house and i couldn't get a picture of them. It's okay, i experienced it every year actually.
Over the other house, my aunt's house, we did our 'lao yee sang'.
From wikipedia : Yusheng, yee sang or yuu sahng (Chinese: 鱼生; pinyin: yúshēng; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: hî-seⁿ or hû-siⁿ), or Prosperity Toss, also known as lo hei (Cantonese for 撈起 or 捞起) is a Teochew-style raw fish salad. It usually consists of strips of raw fish (most commonly salmon),
mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments,
among other ingredients. Yusheng literally means "raw fish" but since
"fish (鱼)" is commonly conflated with its homophone "abundance (余)", Yúshēng (鱼生) is interpreted as a homophone
for Yúshēng (余升) meaning an increase in abundance. Therefore, yusheng
is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor.
This is our yee sang. Getting ready to tossed it. Chinese's belief is the higher we tossed the more luck we get. I don't really believe i just do it for the fun. I had the video of it but my phone just can't upload it. So im sorry. :) By dinner time, we are drained out. Mom and me came home to get rest while the others stayed back for wine drinking.
I am so sorry, i would like to type longer but my eyes gets heavier and my battery is draining out too. I really hope you have a great day and hope you love reading it! Enjoy! Till then,
Love, Jan
