Encouragement ; Words of comfort

Good day. Long long day. As usual, when you aren't keen about the work you've done. It is okay, because you grow as you learn or the other way round. The past post was all about venting it out about what ive been through at work. However, today is a little different as i would like to talk about encouragement.

Many of us or shall i say most of us do face hard times at least once or twice. With the hard times that you are going through, i guess, the last thing you want is a long winding lecture from someone else pint pointing out your weaknesses and trying so hard to just push you through that weakness right away. I can't say is wrong, but i feel that words matter most.

Instead of pint pointing out right away a person weakness, why not give words of encouragement or help the person to change their mindset from a losing hope path to a path that they feel they can see hope. Some of us may not realize how words can indirectly affect someone and pushes someone to their limit. To me, no matter how straight forward you are or being a know-it-all person, you should take a minute to think before you say. For example, when someone says 'I feel like i am being dumped with so much workload that i am not capable of handling it all alone'. Then you reply them 'No, you just got to learn to organize it better and you have got to work smart'. Why not replying 'Take a deep breath, believe in yourself. You can do it. Maybe start off by organizing them according to level of difficulty first.'

To be honest, comfort words may take up a few extra seconds but you never know how much comforting words can mean to someone. Such encouraging words motivates people and help them to see things in a different perspective rather than just pushing and planting words into their mind and ask them to do it.

I am not good in words, and i am feeling pretty sleepy. I don't know how well i've written this but the message i want to send out to everyone is the words of encouragement or comfort that you are conveying to the others are important. It may not feel anything to you but not everyone are able to accept harsh words just like you do. If you care, you know a better way of comforting someone.

Just sharing.

Till then,
Jan
